Our inspection in March of 2011 we could see that this facility has become world class. We predicted this back in 2008 and we were right on the money!! Located just North of Hemet California, this facility is perfectly positioned.

Open to the public, The Country Club at Soboba Springs is an exceptional design. When we did our original tour in March of 2008, the golf course had been built and maintained in perfect condition for over 2 years before anyone was allowed to play on it.

This remarkable approach to creating the course has lead to the most striking and perfect playing conditions you will see anywhere. Every single detail has been attended to with expert hands and now that it is a Nationwide Tour stop for the Soboba Classic, the PGA requirements add an extra special touch.

The 31,000 square foot clubhouse facility has several outdoor terraces to seat 200 people outdoors with space for 500 diners indoors. Exceptional rockwork and waterfall features beautifully highlight the natural designer selected colors of the clubhouse.

The course was purchased in 2004 by the Soboba Band of Luiseno. The goal of the Tribal Leaders right from the beginning was to make The Country Club of Soboba Springs the #1 golf destination in Southern California. We at Golf Destination Review all agree that they have done a remarkable job achieving this most impressive objective.

Famous golf course designer Desmond Muirhead created the original course in 1966 but Muirhead expert and student Cary Bickler was hired to rebuild and re-design the masterpiece we see today. What a job Cary did!! Spectacular in every respect!

Included in Cary’s re-design and construction were 25 new bunkers all filled with Augusta White sand. The golf course has been lengthened to 7053 yards from the tips but also shortened 1,000 yards from the forward tees to ensure that all playing abilities can have the game of a lifetime.

Many palm trees and other vegetation have been strategically planted among the natural growth to enhance the use of several streams and the well crafted rock work . Gurgling waterfalls and ponds throughout the property add that special relaxed sound of serenity found only at the finest locales.

Tyler Miller – Director of Golf was absolutely right when he called Soboba a “fantastic facility”.

During our tour of Soboba Springs for 2011-2012, the course was in the middle of being overseeded to further improve what is already an outstanding property. One could readily see that the new grass will add a new dimension to the challenge and playing conditions of this excellent layout.

We look forward to returning as soon as we can. You should make this part of your “have to play “ list too!
