“Two Master Minds, One Master Piece.” Green Gables Golf Club was designed and built in 1939 by one of the world’s most renowned architects, the late Stanley Thompson. Now, over seventy years later, another legend among architects has renewed the spirit of Green Gables. Thomas McBroom, whose designs have achieved innumerable awards and accolades, has blended his own unique perspective with Thompson’s original concept to ensure Green Gables meets the highest standards of golfing expectations.  Two course designer legends, one legendary course.

Here’s what the GDR team saw : Thomas McBroom , took Stanley’s masterpiece and widened the fairways so that now players at all levels of experience can thoroughly enjoy the outstanding playing conditions. This course is perfect for every level of player because of the multiple tee boxes and fairness in the risk vs reward department . Green Gables is truly a good walk …unspoiled !!

The sand bunkers have been returned to their original shapings but with the usual subtle adjustments that only Tom McBroom knows how to sculpt into a Stanley Thompson renovation .
New grasses and plantings abound throughout this classic layout while water and strategically placed moundings and principal trees make your trip around Green Gables a uniquely enjoyable but challenging time .
Just so you get an idea of what kind of care and attention has gone into this upgrade, picture what over $5,000,000 in changes to one of PEI’s original masterpieces must be like. Think Mona Lisa with new lipstick, a wider smile and brighter paint.

Green Gables Golf Club is located at 8727 Cavendish Road, Hunter River, PEI. Right next door to the Anne of Green Gables homestead in Cavendish.
