Golf facilities without the right people to run them are, well… just another ho-hum place to chase the white orb around on some grass. For those of us who constantly search for places to play golf where the service, the course, the clubhouse and the people score birdies and eagles, we have found it all at StoneWater Golf Club in Highland Heights Ohio, USA.
 
The reception and hospitality extended to us by General Manager John Clapacs and Golf Operations Manager Dick Roth were both world class in every respect. Of course PGA Master Professional Bob Bourne is always available to assist you with a great lesson or two as well. The elegant clubhouse with a fine meal to be had in the StoneWater Grill is second to none. The StoneWater Grill even has entertainment on a regular basis to make sure you fully enjoy your after round activities or those cool Fall, Winter and Spring evenings.
 
Surrounded by a world class housing development, StoneWater until recently was strictly a private club . However, recent management changes and outstanding member’s co-operation has given rise to the offering of public access golf which to the way we think at GDR is the way of the future.  Great strides forward at StoneWater. Stonewater Golf Club is located on #1 Club Drive , Cleveland Ohio. This is just a short drive from the East side of Cleveland and worth every minute.
 
The course is a Hurdzan/Fry designed jewel with Dana Fry being the lead designer. Dana has done some great work and StoneWater definitely exceeds his usual high standards of excellence.
 
A unique color coded tee deck system is utilized with 5 sets of tees. Our team being from Canada had never seen this system before we saw it employed at StoneWater. There are no forward red tees, these are now silver.
 
The course from the tips plays to a slope rating of 138 coupled with a course rating of 74.8 at 7060 yards. This plays tribute to the fact that the course hosted the Nationwide Tour for 3 years. The forward tees, the silver tees play a yardage of 4952. StoneWater prides itself on holding first class group events including weddings, group golf events and tournaments. All of their golf events packages include many unique items found only at the best golf facilities. StoneWater is truly a place to show everyone that you know what golf and golf etiquette is all about.
 
A great fully stocked pro shop also awaits you whether you are in the market for some top of the line custom fit clubs from one of the top makers or just want a souvenir to remind you of the great time you had at StoneWater.
 
At StoneWater, you can also play golf the way that golf was meant to be played. With caddies or fore caddies. For those of you who have never played with a good caddie at your side, take it from us, your score will improve by 5 shots or more. Unbelievable!
