Located on Marion Center Road at the South end of Charlevoix Michigan off highway US-31 sits one of Michigan's oldest and best kept secrets. Steve Braun the current head professional at Belvedere has been charged with tremendous responsibility to ensure that the integrity of the Watson family traditions since the 1920's are carried on.

Rumors abound that this is the course where the famous Tom Watson formerly of the PGA Tour and now Champions Tour member and multiple major and tournament winner played and learned his craft in his early years. Summers for Tom were filled with golf on a course designed and founded in 1925 by Willie Watson, Scotsman.

Belvedere has been home to the Michigan State Amateur Championship almost 40 times. The course carries on the history of golf from a simpler time when the dirt was moved by men and teams of horses. In this case it took 5 teams of horses and 150 men to build Belvedere.

What history this course has! This bodes well for Belvedere as it has stood the test of time while offering challenging par 3's and 4's in addition to par 5's that require aggressive strategy if you want to "go low".
